Training and Previous Experience
I started off wanting to be a dancer and trained in classical ballet, attending vocational classes with the Birmingham Royal Ballet until I was eighteen. At that point I'd fallen in love with theatre and wanted more than anything to be an actor, so was absolutely delighted to spend three years training at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama on their BA Hons Acting course.
After I graduated I set up a small touring theatre company called Mr. Hart's Productions, specialising in Restoration and 18th Century Drama (named after my father who came up with the idea for the company, wanting desperately to give young, talented graduates a platform on which to be seen).
In 2008 whilst in a production of The Rivals, I met my husband, Matthew. The following year we set up Fizz and Ginger Films, an independent film production company that aims to create high quality, fresh and original content.
Fizz and Ginger has been an important vehicle in enabling me to create my own work, something I believe to be vital in order to survive in this industry. It has also allowed me to developed my skills as a writer, producer and line producer and work across many areas of the film industry.
