ABOUT

Tori Butler-Hart is an actress, screenwriter and film producer as well as being the co-director and co-founder of Fizz and Ginger Films Ltd. She has starred along side the likes of Sir Ian McKellen in Infinitum:Subject Unknown, Maxine Peake in Keeping Rosy, Conleth Hill and Alex Hassell in The Isle and Two Down, Pippa Bennett-Warner and Amanda Lawrence in REAL, and Sheila Hancock and Kevin Guthrie in Edie.

She started out pursuing a career as a dancer, with the Birmingham Royal Ballet as part of their vocational training until she was eighteen. At that point she had fallen in love with theatre and wanted more than anything to be an actor. She then spent three years training at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama on their BA Hons Acting course. Then after graduating she set up a small touring theatre company called Mr. Hart's Productions, specialising in Restoration and 18th Century Drama (named after her father who came up with the idea for the company, wanting desperately to give young, talented graduates a platform on which to be seen).

In 2008 whilst in a production of The Rivals, she met her husband, Matthew and the following year they set up Fizz and Ginger Films Ltd, an independent film production company that aims to create high quality, original content that encompasses both artistic excellence and broad commercial appeal. In 2021 Matthew and Tori's book "Full to the Brim with Fizz, Ginger and Fierce Determination: A Guide to Independent Film Making" was published worldwide and continues to sell globally.

Fizz and Ginger Films has been an important vehicle in enabling Tori to create her own work and allowed her to developed skills as both a screenwriter and producer, working across many areas of the film industry. To date Tori has produced and co-produced eight feature films and is currently working on a further three this year.
